Relating Multiplication to Addition - Video

This is our first music video and it's a basic video which relates multiplication to addition. The video is meant to be used as an introduction to get students motivated and interested in learning their multiplication facts. It shows them that if they can add they can multiply. Use the handout as an additional resource for students while they watch the video.

Student misunderstanding: To solve the crime students need to use the information in the picture to confirm each person's alibi.

Mixed Numbers
Multiplication and Division - Level 3

This one page worksheet reviews multiplication and division of mixed numbers. Students need to change a mixed number to an improper fraction and be able to find the reciprocal of a fraction.

Student misunderstanding: Change mixed numbers to improper fractions before you multiply or take the reciprocal. When dividing only take the reciprocal of the fraction to the right of the division sign. Just flip it.

I Have, Who Has?
(Geometry Game) - All Levels

This game is designed to help students practice their geometry. Print out the worksheets and cut out each square. Shuffle and pass one square to each student. If you have extras, give more than one to certain students. You can start anywhere but that person should be the end of the game. Have the starting student read, "Who has?" and the student with the answer needs to say, "I have" and then say the question on their sheet, "Who has?" This should continue until you get back to the starting student.

Student misunderstanding: Students should be looking for exact definitions.
Example: A square can be a rhombus, but a rhombus is not a square.
